These photos were taken at the Tootsies event that I hosted last Saturday featuring BCBG's spring line. It was so much fun, thank you to everyone that made it!!!
Kaylynn and I are the ones in this first pic and we were wearing the same BCBG blazer, however, you really couldn't tell because we styled it very differently. I love each look and I love the fact that this piece is so versatile - something I look for when I am purchasing a piece of clothing. I think it is very important that you wear something several times for it to be worth the purchase. It is important to be able to pair it with something different in your wardrobe to create an entirely different look. A blazer is a great addition to any wardrobe as it can easily be dressed up for work or down for dinner and drinks out. I highly recommend adding this blazer to your closet this spring because of its versatility - you will surely get your wear out of this...it comes in pink as well which I LOVE!!! Click here to see the pink one. Pink is the IT color for spring by the way.
All of these super chic clutches are from the BCBG line as well - the white one is my favorite - especially for spring. Shop the white clutch here.
Thanks for following me!! XOXO!!

A leopard coat is a wardrobe essential in my opinion. It can add so much to your look in an instant. Leopard is one of the few prints I will wear, and it will never go out of style. I love wearing it with black jeans or leather pants, but it also looks ultra chic paired with distressed denim, a simple white tee and black heels. The one I am wearing is sold out so I have provided several options below. Happy shopping!

Here is Kristin Cavallri wearing the Coppertina in black leather - mine are actually the black suede, but the same exact shoe. I love how she paired them with black leather pants...so chic!
The Perfect Black Pump:
I have been looking for a while now for the perfect black pointy toe pump and these are the ones! They are comfortable and very chic! I love the way they are cut in a bit at your toe and they are the perfect heel height. A black pointy toe heel is a wardrobe essential. These can take you out at night, to work, or to lunch with a girl friend. They look amazing paired with so many looks from boyfriend jeans, leather skinnies, pencil skirts, and dresses of any kind - a must have for sure! The best part is that these are so affordable! They are from Kristin Cavallari's shoe line Chinese Laundry and are available here. I normally wear a size 7 1/2, but I ordered these in an 8 because they were closed toe and they fit perfectly - so consider ordering a half size up.

This is Kathy - the owner of the shelter's for pregnant teens and the producer, director and writer of the movie Ron Krauss.
I was asked to interview Vanessa Hudgens regarding her role in her new movie "Gimme Shelter". I saw the screening of the movie last night at the Angelica - it is not out to the public yet, but will be released on January 24th - I highly recommend seeing this movie. It is about a remarkable woman who has created a shelter for pregnant teens and it is based on a true story. Vanessa plays one of the pregnant teens in the movie - "Apple". To say Vanessa's peformance in this movie blew me away would be an understatement. This is quite a serious role which is different than her past roles and she does a phonominal job. You won't recognize her, she cut her hair and put on 20 or so pounds for this role. But hey, any of us can do that, right? It was her acting that was so heart felt and moving. I do not cry easily and this movie had tears rolling down my face more than I want to admit. One of the most inspiring movies I have ever seen - hands down.
Here are some of the questions that I asked Vanessa and her answers:
What was the most challenging scene you performed in the movie and why?
The most challenging seen was when the pimp made me get in his car and I got in and actually stole the car and had to speed right by him, the director wanted me to drive as close to him as possible and I was affraid I was going to hurt him.
How did you prepare yourself for the birthing scene, during and after when the new born was placed on your chest?
I looked in the mirror right before the scene, I looked in the mirror before all scenes and always saw "Apple" - I stayed in character even when I was at home. I actually popped blood vessels in my face when I was doing this birthing scene. When the baby was placed on my chest it wasn't hard for me at all to create this moment - it really wasn't acting, it felt real. Having a baby is a miracle and I felt that when I was in that moment. This scene was shot at 4 in the morning and the director just kept filming and I just kept crying and crying.
Explain the process of transforming into this character "Apple".
Well, I had to gain alot of weight - I ate tons of pizza and pasta which was great because I love both of these foods! I cut my hair and got a nose and lip piercing, I had to talk different, walk different, eat different, and dress different. I stayed at the teen shelter for 3 weeks prior to starting this role. As soon as the filming started I stayed in character - all the time - even when I was at home. When it was over it was hard for me to find myself again. It took a while, but I did it.
Vanessa still stays in touch with one of the teen moms who gave birth a year ago and is on her way to getting her nursing degree.

I was able to interview the real owner of the women's shelters - Kathy Difiore. One of the most amazing women I have ever met. She opened up her first shelter to pregnant teens over 30 years ago and has been taking teen moms in ever since. Her shelters provide food and a place to sleep to these young moms, but also provide a great deal more, such as schooling after the babies are born to help get the mother's on their feet again. She was homeless herself at one point in her life, so she really understands what these young mother's are going through. She is a very religious person and believes this movie is a total God thing. She offers a bible study to the girls in her shelter as well. Her strong faith in God is so apparant when you talk to her. One of her sayings that she says to lots of her young mothers is "stop dancing with your demons" - this in the movie as well. She has also been battling brain cancer for 20 years. I was honored to be able to talk with her, she was so kind and warm. In her office is a picture of her with Mother Theresa and Ronald Reagan. While making this film, Kathy was on set watching which isn't always well accepted in Hollywood, several times she had her tires slashed. She said today she thought it was becasue this movie was really about having faith in God which was so prevelent - that is what the movie is all about - Faith in God. It is hard sometimes to share your faith and for her she was treated horribly at times while making this film because of that, she and everyone else had to perservere and keep going to make this movie a success and that they did. To me, this just made Kathy that much more remarkable. She is living out God's will for her life and helping others while doing it. Isn't that what life is all about? It is to me.
I know this is an unusual thing for me to blog about, but, I was really moved by this movie. I was honored to be able to interview Vanessa and Kathy. I am taking my kids to see this movie the weekend it opens for sure. It portrays a powerful message to everyone, very inspirational!
Thanks for following me - I am grateful for all of you!! XOXO!!
I have been hunting for the perfect oversized coat for a while now. I wanted one that wasn't too oversized so that it wouldn't swallow me, I was so happy when I found this one at Scoop on sale! I love the collar and the leather trim - it is the perfect shade of dark gray which makes it very versatile.
Here are 3 things to keep in mind when wearing an oversized coat -
1.) Make sure that the clothes you are wearing underneath your coat are slim fitting
2,) Wear a heel of some sort so that it elongates your silhouette
3.) Keep your layers simple underneath - maybe just a simple sweater and scarf
The over sized coat is in for spring as well, but in beautiful pastel shades. I am loving this one here and here from Zara. I will be pairing mine with faded boyfriend jeans and silver pumps....a post of this look to come soon.
Have a great evening!! Thanks for following me!! XOXO!!
My husband and I took these photos in Laguna Beach, CA at the Montage. One of our all time favorite places! I always tell all of my clients to wear what you feel most "YOU" in and you will appear more confident because you are comfortable in what you are wearing. What do you feel most "YOU" in? For me, it is a leather jacket and some jeans. This look can be dressed up or down depending on what shoe you pair with the look and how you accessorize it. I have included some of my favorite leather jackets in the "SHOP THE LOOK" below. For spring a white leather jacket would be perfect!! I will be doing a post featuring a white leather jacket soon so stay tuned.

Happy New Year!!!! I wish all of you and your family lots of blessings in 2014!!
I am wearing a fur vest I purchased from Intermix. I have worn this vest a ton this season - it adds that little extra touch to any outfit to give it that extra pop. You can try pairing a fur vest over a maxi dress or wear it with jeans and a simple tee or turtleneck. A fur vest is a wardrobe essential this season! I have included several in my "SHOP THE POST" below at different price points.
I am wearing jewelry from my own line available at The Shak and on my blog mixed with other pieces I have had in my closet for a while. I love layering necklaces long and short - it adds so much to your look!
SHOP THE POST:
Hi Everyone, what a busy time of year! Sorry I haven't done a posting in a while. I stumbled upon this faux fur jacket by Bsable in Beverly Hills at a shop called Planet Blue and fell in love!!! Bsable is a company based out of LA and they make the most beautiful faux fur coats and jackets!!! They all look so real I think and the fit it perfect. Furs are huge this winter season, I love pairing them with distressed denim or even black leather leggings or jeans would be a great look. Also, throw it on over a maxi dress to really bring your ensemble to the next level. I highly recommend buying a faux fur this season, you won't regret it!!
My boyfriend jeans are by One Teaspoon and I have never tried this brand before, but when I put them on I instantly became a fan! They are more of a skinny boyfriend jean if you will. I went down a size so they wouldn't fit so big - they are a size 24. I say that in case you wanted to order them yourself and needed to see what size to order. I went down a size - I usually wear a 25 or 26 in skinny jeans. Boyfriend jeans are going to be big for spring as well so invest in a good pair now because you will for sure be able to wear them a while! How amazing would they look in spring paired with a pastel oversized coat and silver pumps...I am getting excited for the spring fashion!!
